Non-Basmati Rice · Variety
Ponni
Tamil Nadu’s household staple.
Ponni is a medium-grain rice from the Cauvery delta, available as raw rice and as boiled (parboiled) rice. Boiled Ponni retains more nutrients and stays separate after cooking — it is in strong demand among Tamil communities in Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia and the Gulf.
